A/V Semester Reflection

This semester in Video class we worked on the ways to create a video and how to make all our shots look "well". There were many project of which all had something similar, but still had their own unique thing. The very first one we did was the procedures video in which we had a partner, and the 2 of us had to create a video representing what not to do and what to do at ONW. The second project was an audio recording of our partner to show us how to write a story board after interviewing someone. Thirdly we made a video of one of our classmates and what their hobby is which showed us how to put all our other stuff together that we've learn. Lastly we worked on the blood drive video where we all used each others clips to create our own video.

A key event in this entire process is probably the third project because thats where our skills were put to the test and showed how committed you are at getting your video done in time, and who ever made the best got onto ONW NOW(sadly not mine). My thoughts through this process was me asking myself how can I make this better what can I do? Eventually I got an idea for a cool background for the interview, but it didn't go very well because there weren't any chairs available so the set up wasn't that great. When I went to the gymnastics place it was a little uncomfortable, but it all turned out good I got a ton of shots and hey I don't really talk much and I didn't have to.

The elements within all the projects that worked for me was the creativity of getting a variety of shots and having the knowledge know to make them flow smoothly with the audio. Something that I was unable to do is get a second interview which could of made it better, but when it all finished I found out it wasn't going to fit if I were of so it all worked out for the best.
This semester I learned the steps in which a video should be made and what order the steps go into, I learned the way to position something correctly, and I also learned how to crop a shot to work within the three corners.

Next semester I am hoping to learn how to create a real good music video. Since music is really my life I want the knowledge in how I can share it across the world and a music video in my opinion is the way to go. Can't wait tell entertainment.

Accomplishment :D

I made these the other day when I was bored and I think they look so cool. I started by creating the main logo in Illustrator, but that just looked boring so I brought that boring old average logo and put it into Photoshop. I messed with their radiant and feathered them a bit. For Captain America's I grabbed a paint splatter and put around giving the affect of the red of the shield flaring out. For the Green Lantern's logo I painted the outside of the circle and then burned almost all of it so it got the cool radioactive feel.

logo

In Graphic design class we have been working on making logos using our initials and we had to go through many steps to complete this process.

1st we made sketches/ thumbnails of what our mindset was on what we want it to look like. In my sketches I got into the mind of music within a jazz kind of feel so I started drawing kind of squiggly notes representing a music note. Well my name doesn't really work as a music note so I just kept the squiggle in my last sketch and went on with that.

2nd we went to someone and talked to them about how we wanted
our logo to look like and we also asked them about theirs.

3rd we messed around on illustrator to see what we can do with our names.

4th we worked on our professional project.
Rim change
My process through the the actual project on illustrator was I started with one that I thought was good, but I needed more and so my mind started flowing and started get more and more ideas.
So first I changed the rim color to a gradient, but I didn't really like that to much so I moved on.

Change of mind
Well after that I decided to try simplifying it to something a little more relate-able and I changed the colors to a brighter feel because most jazz can kind of give you that feel of enlightenment. I also added a circle because I felt as if that was a lot more smooth compared to a rectangle which is in the thought of smooth jazz.

Mistake
Well I started thinking of a music note again so I tried to recreate one with my initials which didn't work very well so this one just back fired.

My final project.
I realized I didn't really like it simplified, but I loved the color and the thought of the circle, but then it hit me I have to do something to make my T stick out since it's my first name so I shrank the B and hid it in the back and I made the two have the same colors but flipped. To me this is truly my best.
